ABSTRACT

@#The protective effect and mechanism of Oroxylin A, a naturally occurring compound in Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi, was investigated in this study. Isoproterenol administration to rats triggered classic cardiac failure, as demonstrated by objective parameters of cardiac dysfunction. Intragastric administration of oroxylin A at the dose of 25, 50 and 100 mg/(kg·d)significantly improved deranged cardiac parameters in the isoproterenol-induced heart failure model in a dose-dependent manner. At the same time, oroxylin A markedly ameliorated cardiac histological changes and down-regulated serum levels of various neuroendocrine factors including norepinephrine, aldosterone, brain natriuretic peptide, endothelin 1, angiotensin II and so on. Mechanistically, augmenting autophagy of myocardial cells via the inhibition of AKT1-RPS6KB1 signaling contributed to the improvement of isoproterenol-induced rat heart failure by oroxylin A. Taken together, these results suggest that oroxylin A ameliorates heart failure through promoting autophagy in myocardial cells.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To investigate moderating role of sense of humor to the relationship between stressful events and mental health. Methods: 836 middle-school students were investigated by MSHS, ASLEC and GHQ-20. Results: Sense of humor had a positive effect on students’ mental health, and strong humor could deduce the level of anxiety and depressed emotion. Sense of humor could buffer the relationship of stressful events and depression, but it could not adjust the relationship of stressful events with self-affirmation and anxiety. Conclusion: Sense of humor has a moderating effect on the stressful events and some aspects of mental health.

Boys and girls had no difference as with school as the source of sex knowledge. Girls got sex knowledge more frequently from parents than boys, the later got more from media and books. Boys had more sex fantasy, stronger sex desire and actually more sex activities than girls (effective values were 4.47, 3.41, 1.59 relatively, with 95% CI were 4.06~5.13, 3.10~3.47, 1.37~1.86).Conclusion:There are obvious gender differences in adolescent sexology.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To study the relationship between perfectionism and interpersonal problems as well as loneliness of college students.Methods:638 college students were tested with Perfectionism Self-Presentation Scale(PSPS),Inventory of Interpersonal Problems(IIP-32)and UCLA Loneliness Scale(UCLA).Results:There was significant correlation between three kinds of perfectionism and interpersonal problems as well as loneliness. And the three kinds of perfectionism could well predict interpersonal problems(Need to appear perfect:?=-0.089;need to avoid appearing imperfect:?=0.268;need to avoid disclosing imperfections:?=0.287).Need to appear perfect and interpersonal problems could predict loneliness(?=-0.114,?=0.605).Furthermore,need to appear perfect, need to avoid appearing imperfect and need to avoid disclosing imperfections could influence loneliness via interpersonal problems. Conclusion:The need to appear perfect could be beneficial to relieve interpersonal problems and loneliness. While the need to avoid appearing imperfect and the need to avoid disclosing imperfections could increase interpersonal problems and loneliness.Interpersonal problems could serve as moderator between perfectionism and loneliness.

ABSTRACT

Objective:The present study explored the effects of test-anxious on the color naming of the words which related to tests. Methods:Utilizing the research model of Stroop effect, the high test anxious individuals and low test anxious individuals were asked to name the colors of words which related to test and the colors of the words which not related to words. Results:Test-anxious had remarkable interference effect to the color naming of the words related tests made by the high test anxious individuals, compared to the color of the words which unrelated to test, the naming response time of the high anxious subjects were prolonged 56 ms to test-related words (556.0?58.2/500.0?46.5,t=2.56, P=0.016), the naming response time of the low anxious subjects were promoted 40 ms, they had shorter reaction time to test-related words (470.0?51.1/510.0?45.7,t=-6.76, P
